Young Hearts Run Free

April 18- June 14, 2025 | Curated by Dail Chambers

In this exhibition we respond to our youth and our own personal childhood. In our society, our belief systems, educational upbringing and social identities are determined by toys, media and what society tells us to be. In this body of work, we unpack the things we learned as children through media, toys and childhood stories.
Artists cover a wide range of topics such as body positivity, gender orientation, collective and personal memory, and more. We take a deep dive into our formative years as a marker into what shapes us as critical thinkers, artists and beyond. How have our childhood memories shaped our lives?
Our exhibition is composed of creatives of all ages. This show includes youth art, adults, parents, mid-career, emerging artists and elders as personally self identified. By taking an intergenerational approach to the standard gallery experience, we open up the possibility of healing our inner child, healing unresolved childhood trauma. This exhibition stewards the youthful zeal of thinking outside of the box.
